Second Vice-President - Anthony Rocchio

Anthony Rocchio (He/Him) is serving his second term as Second Vice-President on the Provincial Executive for the 2023-2025 term. Previously, he served as a Councillor from 2015 to 2018 and Third Vice-President from 2019 to 2021.

With 25 years of experience in education, Anthony currently works as the Special Education Consultant for Sudbury Catholic Schools. His diverse career includes roles as a classroom teacher, Resource Teacher (SERT), Elementary ELL/MLL teacher, and in other special assignments roles. This breadth of experience has given him valuable insight into the challenges teachers face daily, from curriculum changes and managing IEPs to maintaining personal well-being.

As a proud Catholic teacher, Anthony strongly believes in the importance of publicly funded Catholic education. He is committed to advocating for a system that supports both students and teachers, ensuring the values of Catholic education continue to thrive within the public school system.

A passionate advocate for collective strength and collaboration, Anthony listens to the concerns of educators from across the province, ensuring their voices are heard. He works tirelessly to represent members and fight for better resources, fair policies, and professional development opportunities. His experience on the Central Bargaining Team, including negotiations through three provincial contracts, strengthens his resolve to continue advocating for educators at the bargaining table.

Throughout his career, Anthony has demonstrated a commitment to both student success and teacher advocacy, serving in various leadership roles within the Sudbury Elementary Unit, including Councillor, Treasurer, First Vice-President, and Chief Negotiator.

Outside of his professional life, Anthony enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, staying active, and pursuing his passion for reading and lifelong learning.
